Two-Leg Deep-Space Relay Architectures: Performance, Challenges, and Perspectives

چکیده

In this article, architectures for interplanetary communications that feature the use of a data relay are investigated. considered “two-leg” architecture, spacecraft orbiting Earth, or in orbit at Lagrange point, receives from deep-space probe (leg-1) and relays them toward ground (leg-2). Different wireless technologies link, namely, radio frequencies above Ka band optical frequencies, considered. Moreover, cases transparent regenerative relaying as well different orbital configurations addressed, offering thorough analysis such systems viewpoints. Results show that, under certain constraints terms pointing accuracy onboard antenna size, adoption two-leg architecture can achieve rates supported by direct space-to-Earth link with remarkably smaller station antennas.

ADIOS: Architectures Deep In Output Space

Multi-label classification is a generalization of binary classification where the task consists in predicting sets of labels. With the availability of ever larger datasets, the multi-label setting has become a natural one in many applications, and the interest in solving multi-label problems has grown significantly. As expected, deep learning approaches are now yielding state-of-the-art perform...

Implementation Challenges for Responsive Space Architectures

Current space acquisition programs are often characterized by long-development cycles, cost overruns, and changing requirements. In an effort to match the time constants associated with space system development and operations to the needs of the system’s respective users, operationally responsive space (ORS) architectures have been proposed. Fractionated spacecraft represent one potential archi...

Designing Intrusion Detection Systems: Architectures, Challenges and Perspectives

Computer security is defined as the protection of computing systems against threats to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There are two types of intruders: the external intruders who are unauthorized users of the machines they attack, and internal intruders, who have permission to access the system with some restrictions. Due to increasing incidents of cyber attacks, building effecti...

Networks on Chip, router architectures and performance challenges

With the continuous technology scaling, System On Chips (SoCs) have evolved considerably and can integrate an important number of Intellectual Property (IP) cores in the same chip. However, global interconnects are become the main performance limitation of SoCs. The Network on Chip (NoC) paradigm has emerged as an efficient interconnection structure addressing the global wire delay problem. Thi...

Analysis and performance of some basic space-time architectures

In this paper, we discuss some of the most basic architectural superstructures for wireless links with multiple antennas: at the transmit site and at the receive site. Toward leveraging the gains of the last half century of coding theory, we emphasize those structures that can be composed using spatially one dimensional coders and decoders. These structures are investigated primarily under a pr...
